Contractor was given the lead character in Pericles after a one-year stint at University. She was a part of the audition for the part at Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and received. The show she played in 92 performances earned praise from Canadian critics. She was given the chance to enroll in the Stratford Conservatory. The school is a private institution that accepts just eight men and four woman to study traditional theatre. Contractor was ecstatically accepted. Contractor's spot was assured for the following season of shows She was also offered Hermia's part for the role of Hermia A Midsummer Night's Dream.
